I didn't feel lost as cummins did a wonderful job filling in any necessary back story. The only thing here, although they tried to make a strong and courageous main character, were completely mistaken in the actor. New york city has been thrown into chaos by the crimes of the bone collector, a serial kidnapper and killer who gives the police a chance to save his victims from death by leaving obscure clues.

Based on a book by jeffrey deaver, the bone collector follows quadriplegic forensic specialist lincoln rhyme (denzel washington) as he and a team of police officers, including angelina jolie’s amelia, mike mcglone’s kenny, and ed o’neill’s paulie, collaborate to find and capture the deadly title serial killer. Angelina jolie is too weak an actor to play such roles. It's not a bad film, it does its job, but is short of being great due to its lack of clout and shallow delivery.
